Too often the only dream our black boys wish for is becoming a professional athlete. What if we opened their eyes to all the other great careers they can aspire to? Those hands can do a lot more than catch a football or shoot a basketball. Our youth must be educated in all the other professions that make the athletes job possible. It should not be unfathomable for a black boy to believe he can own a pro team one day.
“Sure, with those hands you can play for a team. But you can buy a team. Ownership gets to wear the rings first ...you can be anything you want with these hands.”
